everything is blue around us, with this plastic sheats that are protecting us from rain. it s raining like never in japan in december since , who knows?! we are working in difficult conditions, dramatic i want to say. we are building little digues...the paint is not drying..so of course, it s a bit frustrasting. but we go on, positively. the slide is finished sended, we have protecting it and tomorrow, all the assitants will have the pleasure to paint it with the primar. they are really waiting for a more cool job then the sending process, i undertand, of course. they are fantastic , they do a difficult job,a nd they do it good. we are..so so tired..

Franck Bragigand（フランク・ブラジガンド）

1971年生まれ。オランダ/フランス在住。1990〜1995年、エコール・デ・ボザール（フランス国立高等美術学校）で学び、1997〜1998年、オランダの国立ライクスアカデミー（2年間のアーティストインレジデンス）に滞在。その後、オランダ、ベルギー、フランスなどヨーロッパを中心に活動。自らをrealistic painterと定義するブラジガンドは、新たな作品としてモノを作るのではなく、現実の社会に実在するもの（古くなって用途が失われたものなど）をペイントすることで再生させ、それぞれの特異性や魅力を引き出すという活動を展開している。オランダのデザインをリードするDroog Designのオフィス全体もペイントするなどデザインや建築とのコラボレーションも多い。2004年、大阪にて滞在制作を行い、路面電車（阪堺電車）と恵美須町駅をペイント。long interview [log-osaka]

Urban Concern-Osaka II

ヨーロッパをベースに活動するアーティスト、フランク・ブラジガンドが、約1ヶ月、大阪に滞在し行ったプロジェクト。2004年にも大阪に残る最後の路面電車と駅をペイントしたブラジガンドは、今回、大阪・浪速区にある日東小学校と愛染公園の遊具をペイントしました。色を塗ることで、どのように遊具が生まれ変わり、街の景観が変化するのか、またその周辺に住む人々の意識がどう変化するのか、そのプロセスに関わってもらうことも、今回のプロジェクトの目的としています。小学校では４年〜6年生の子どもが授業の一環で作業に参加、公園では一般から募集したサポートスタッフや小学校で作業を体験した子どもたちも参加し、アーティストと共同作業を行いました。ペイントした遊具は現在もそのまま残っています。
