So, it s going on, beautifull day today, warm. I have started to paint and one composition is finished, a green one. i' m satisfied, it looks great. totally new, totally changed. a new picture of a swing, a slide and little things around, a street light. A lot of assistants are busy with the sending process, for the next objects to come. I 'm really thankfull to them, lets be clear, it s a hard job but neccesary. specially there, the old painting is really in a bad shape. tomorrow, it is going to rain maybe, so we have to deal with this problem, always. we can be stopped any time and this natural rule is difficult to handle. last week we were having some tentes and stuff to be protected but it is not nice to work in such conditions, specially when you start, so i was a bit stressed about the follow up of everything. we just have 2 weeks to finish everything, and we have too, i can't say, well, i come later!..it should be done in time. my plane is the 22, so...the people around , the inhabitants are coming to see, checking, the kids are helping, and as one said me yesterday before leaving, ' hey franck , do you best!', in japanese of course. i ' m surprised to see some kids coming naturally to help, beeing around, offering a candy, they look really happy about what s going on. Of course, i'm working for them too!...but now, we arereally hungry with all this energy spended, so we shall to one of my favorite restaurant here, a corean with a nice barbecue...

Franck Bragigand（フランク・ブラジガンド）

1971年生まれ。オランダ/フランス在住。1990〜1995年、エコール・デ・ボザール（フランス国立高等美術学校）で学び、1997〜1998年、オランダの国立ライクスアカデミー（2年間のアーティストインレジデンス）に滞在。その後、オランダ、ベルギー、フランスなどヨーロッパを中心に活動。自らをrealistic painterと定義するブラジガンドは、新たな作品としてモノを作るのではなく、現実の社会に実在するもの（古くなって用途が失われたものなど）をペイントすることで再生させ、それぞれの特異性や魅力を引き出すという活動を展開している。オランダのデザインをリードするDroog Designのオフィス全体もペイントするなどデザインや建築とのコラボレーションも多い。2004年、大阪にて滞在制作を行い、路面電車（阪堺電車）と恵美須町駅をペイント。long interview [log-osaka]

Urban Concern-Osaka II

ヨーロッパをベースに活動するアーティスト、フランク・ブラジガンドが、約1ヶ月、大阪に滞在し行ったプロジェクト。2004年にも大阪に残る最後の路面電車と駅をペイントしたブラジガンドは、今回、大阪・浪速区にある日東小学校と愛染公園の遊具をペイントしました。色を塗ることで、どのように遊具が生まれ変わり、街の景観が変化するのか、またその周辺に住む人々の意識がどう変化するのか、そのプロセスに関わってもらうことも、今回のプロジェクトの目的としています。小学校では４年〜6年生の子どもが授業の一環で作業に参加、公園では一般から募集したサポートスタッフや小学校で作業を体験した子どもたちも参加し、アーティストと共同作業を行いました。ペイントした遊具は現在もそのまま残っています。
